The abundance and diversity of cultural heritage objects, fast rivers, unique boulders, unique neat towns – all this gives Salantai Regional Park a unique charm and exclusivity. The largest juniper plant in Lithuania grows here. Only here you can admire the thickest and oldest chestnut. Alka Hill, on which the holy fire is probably burning for the longest time in Samogitia. Crosses, chapels and chapel pillars are an integral part of the regional park landscape. The river Minija meanders through the park. The unique Saukliai boulder, called the Lithuanian tundra, is found here, as is the fifth largest boulder in Lithuania – Silalė boulder. The only tower-free neo-baroque basilica church in Kartena stands in the park. Built after 1875.

Orvid homestead – a museum

Orvidai homestead is famous for its museum of stone sculptures, established in 1973. Architectural compositions composed of stone and oak trunks, including stone sculptures, crosses and monuments with national and religious symbols, created by V. Orvidas can be found here. In the middle of the field there is an impressive exposition of large stones, the thickest logs, root dumps, household tools, and many sculptural accents.
