The Palanga Sports Centre and Stadium, which was renovated and modernised a few years ago, is now the epicentre of seaside sports events. It hosts training and competitions in athletics, basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, badminton and other sports. The sports complex is not just for professional athletes. Anyone can come and play basketball or table tennis, or visit the gyms. The Palanga Sports Centre also offers sports equipment and facilities for hire (gym, stadium, athletics arena, tennis courts). So if you’re: a team of athletes looking to make a difference, a company team on workation, or an active group of friends – your group is sure to find somewhere to pour out its energy while on holiday in Palanga. And if you’re a traveller who always packs a tennis racket in your suitcase, you can keep your skills and form up by visiting the tennis court at the Palanga Sports Centre. Another place for those who prefer a more active holiday is the Palanga City Pool. Within the modern 3500 m² space of the sports complex there is a 25-metre swimming pool, suited both for training and learning to swim, and a Wellness Centre for relaxing and recharging. The wellness centre features steam baths, a Himalayan salt bath, leisure pools for children and adults, a baby pool, whirlpools, massage rooms, and a fitness room. Up to 250 people can visit at a time.

Holidaymakers who want to continue their exercise routine and healthy lifestyle even when on holiday can exercise in the fresh air in Palanga. The 6-kilometre circular “Labrytys” wellness trail stretches through the coastal pine forest and features five active recreation areas with outdoor fitness equipment and sports facilities. There are also sports areas in various locations around the resort with modern outdoor fitness equipment for exercising various muscle groups: legs, torso, arms, chest, upper shoulder girdle, abdominal press and others. People of all physical abilities can exercise with them, as the machines have adjustable weight loads that can be changed by you. People with disabilities can also exercise and strengthen their muscles, as there is a wheelchair-friendly fitness trainer, among others. Some of the fitness equipment is suitable for children.

One of these sports areas with seven outdoor fitness machines is located right by the sea, next to the beach volleyball court at the Children’s Park, so you can come and exercise even during the breaks between sunbathing. There are also fitness equipment and volleyball courts on the beaches of Palanga and Šventoji.

The total length of the cycling paths through the city is several dozen kilometres, and you can visit the city’s famous sites (Birutė Park, Amber Museum, Love Avenue, Children’s Park, etc.). Cycling paths follow scenic routes through pine forests, parks and alongside the seaside dunes. Moreover, from Palanga you can easily reach the resort of Šventoji, the Latvian border, the port of Klaipėda, and the coastal cliff known as Olando kepurė, which means Dutchman’s Cap.
